Food packaging

An interactive identifying healthy food from their packaging.

Pupils should understand that food packaging and symbols on food packaging are designed to help us make healthy choices.

When choosing eggs, pupils should be encouraged to look for the British Lion mark and best-before date stamped on the shell, to ensure the highest standards of food safety and freshness.

Please note that the term ‘GDA’ (Guideline Daily Amount) used on the PDF has been superseded by ‘RI’ (Reference Intake) on most food packaging, but the values shown are unaffected.
