KS1 egg & veggie wraps
A simple home-cooking and Design & Technology activity where children make a healthy snack: a wholemeal wrap filled with sliced boiled egg and vegetables. An adult boils and slices the egg in advance, then children spread a little sauce, add spinach and other vegetables, lay the sliced egg on top, fold the sides in and roll the wrap, before an adult cuts it in half. The activity builds fine motor skills (spreading, placing and rolling), teaches that eggs and vegetables help the body grow strong, and encourages children to talk about colours and textures. The pack includes child recipe cards, a home-cooking guide and a teacher guide scaled for a class of 30 (groups of 5), using British Lion eggs.
