Eggsploring numbers

A hands-on maths lesson that uses eggs and egg boxes to develop early number skills. Children learn the key vocabulary of counting, grouping and sharing (group, equal, count, half, share) and practise counting eggs accurately, placing them into equal groups, and sharing them fairly between baskets. Through practical challenges, such as sharing eight eggs equally between two baskets, pupils explore what "equal" and "fair" mean and consider what happens when there is an odd number to share.
