The journey of an egg

The journey of an egg Lesson Presentation

This lesson introduces young pupils to where their eggs come from. Children discover that eggs are produced on farms rather than grown in shops, and learn to recognise the British Lion quality mark as a sign that an egg comes from a UK farm and has been checked for safety and quality. They explore what a farm is and why farms sit in the countryside, then build their geography skills by locating the United Kingdom and naming and labelling its four countries (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) on a map, understanding that British eggs come from farms across all of them.
