Interactive book cracks microwave cooking

20/08/2010

Students living away from home for the first time this autumn will now be able to create delicious egg recipes at the ping of a button.

A new online microwave recipe booklet is being launched by British Lion eggs on www.eggrecipes.co.uk along with a competition to win Bosch microwaves worth £119.99.

The interactive ‘Micro Guide’ is available free and features a range of egg dishes that are quick to cook from scratch in the microwave. Simply download your free booklet and print or share recipes online.

The featured meals range from quick favourites such as 90 second scrambled eggs to more challenging recipes like chorizo tortillas, all offering value for money at around £1 per portion. There are options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the recipes come with hints, tips and serving suggestions to offer versatility.

Jane Lawrie, the Home Economist behind the recipe collection, says: “For some students arriving at university the microwave is the only cooking appliance on offer, yet they may not want to splash out on pre prepared ready meals. We’ve created the recipe book to show just how cheap and easy it is to create delicious meals in minutes.”
