Slimmer flips a winner

A slimmer from Guildford has proven she has the ‘Eggs Factor’ by winning a national competition to find the UK’s best low calorie egg recipe.

Sue Warner’s Egg Flip & Potato Pie was voted as the favourite recipe in the competition by thousands of Slimming World members, via their website.

Sue’s recipe had already beaten nearly 700 entries to reach the final stage of the competition, which encouraged slimmers from across the UK to invent diet-friendly egg recipes.

Andrew Parker, Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: “We were overwhelmed with the sheer number of entries and Sue did extremely well to win amongst such stiff competition. The standard of entries really demonstrated how easy it is to incorporate eggs into your diet – especially if you are watching your weight.”

The competition was launched in March as part of British Lion eggs’ health-focused £1m marketing programme for 2010. High in good quality protein and relatively low in fat, eggs are considered ‘syn-free’ by Slimming World, meaning its 300,000 members can enjoy as many as they like.

Sue wins £500 worth of shopping vouchers and will have her recipe featured in Slimming World magazine.
