Think Outside the Box with top chefs

Eggs are back in vogue with A-list celebrities joining the growing number of people who are choosing them to help keep in shape, yet research* suggests people struggle to cook even the most basic egg dishes.

Now four of Britain’s leading chefs are urging people to ‘think outside the box’ with a new collection of a dozen recipes inspiring home cooks to get creative with the great British egg.

The recipes - by Annabel Karmel, Paul Merrett, Jun Tanaka and Sophie Wright - feature on the new site http://www.eggrecipes.co.uk/thinkoutsidethebox alongside how-to videos showcasing the new recipes and a range of classic egg cookery techniques.

The recipe collection includes family meals by Annabel Karmel, the author and leading expert on children’s food and nutrition, and light, nutritious recipes by Sophie Wright, one of the country’s youngest top chefs.  Paul Merrett, the star of the BBC show Economy Gastronomy, has developed dishes designed to offer value for money, and Jun Tanaka – Executive Head Chef of the Pearl Restaurant and Bar in London – challenges cooks with his adventurous egg recipes.

Whatever your favourite egg recipe, always look for the British Lion mark to guarantee the highest standards of food safety and freshness.

*A survey of 1,000 adults in November 2010 by GfK NOP showed eight out of 10 people struggle to cook with eggs.
