Life cycles and hatching

A science lesson on life cycles and hatching that shows how different animals begin life from an egg. Pupils follow the life cycle of a chicken, from a hen sitting on her egg through to hatching and growing into a hen or rooster, and contrast it with the very different life cycle of a frog, from frogspawn to tadpole to froglet to adult. Through practical egg stations (a life cycle builder, mystery eggs and an investigation activity) and a quickfire quiz, children explore how many animals hatch from eggs and grow in their own way.
