Thanks to the hundreds of pupils who entered the Eggs Factor competition. The competition is now closed and the judges had a cracking time judging those egg recipes that celebrate a loved one or special occasion.
Hopefully, as well as having some great fun coming up with the recipes, the competition has helped to increase pupils’ knowledge of cooking and awareness of healthy eating, having been designed to fit with the Healthy Schools Initiative, and Design and Technology curriculum.
The winners of the Eggs Factor became modern day advertising executives as they worked with advertising professionals using state of the art equipment to devise, film, act in and plan the production of their very own eggy advertisement, which is being showcased on the Eggrecipes YouTube channel. Although the competition is now closed, there are still some great curriculum linked teaching resources for you to use. The Eggs Factor is designed to increase pupils’ cooking skills and awareness of healthy eating. Eggs can turn the most basic of ingredients into a quick, healthy and tasty meal, and there are many simple methods of cooking eggs that young children can learn.
